These are the answers to common questions. For further inquiries, please contact us.
- What is carriers' responsibility in trade?
-
Fundamentally, our responsibility is to carry cargoes from ports (CY) to ports (CY). Customs clearance of export and import, and carrying in/out of the cargo to/from a port are under customer's arrangement and cost. This is the same as passenger has to come to harbor on their cost when using passenger boat, such as a ferry.
Of course, we receive inquiries and requests from our customers for door-to-door service. For such case, please contact us for further information.

- Is it necessary for customers to arrange marine containers for shipments?
- We, the carrier, have containers for our customers and generally it is not necessary for customers to arrange containers. Containers can be picked up at our designated location, where we have service and we ask customers to come to pick them up at where we specify. After shipments, customers can return to our nearest designated location.
(One of conditions to use our containers is to return our containers as same condition as when they were released.)

- Is it possible to make payment in Japanese yen?
- In case payment is made in Japan, we can accept Japanese Yen even ocean freight is in U.S. dollar basis. The exchange rate will be the rate of two business days before the vessel's arrival.

- To send B/L to consignee as soon as possible, we asked for B/L after loading but our request was rejected. Is it possible to issue B/L before vessel's departure?
-
We issue B/Ls only after the vessel's departure. Although it depends upon conditions of agreement between shippers and consignees, when we are allowed to surrender original B/L at loading or B/L issuing port, we can release cargoes to consignees without presentation of original B/Ls at the discharging port. Please contact us for details.
Original B/Ls are negotiable securities. Please be careful of handling.

- What are reasons for ships' delay.
- Operations of ships are greatly influenced by weather conditions. There are cases that entry and exit of ports are restricted due to heavy fog, and speed of ships may not go up due to bad weather. In order to avoid inconveniences to our customers, we put uppermost effort to keep vessels on schedule.

- We, customers, are sometimes having difficulties to confirm our shipments with our partners/suppliers. Is there any way to solve this problem?
- In such cases, it is possible that custom clearance was not made on time and/or suppliers were not able to stuff cargoes on time for booked vessels, when we, as carrier, can not be responsible. However, we can contact our customers' suppliers from our local office (located at Dalian, Qingdao, and Shanghai) and agents of each port.

- After cargo receipt, the quantity differed from what we ordered and B/L mentioned.
- For CY/CY term transportation, vanning (stuffing) and devanning (un-stuffing) are under customers responsibilities and we are unable to compensate. Please check with suppliers.

- Can fresh vegetables and meats be carried by marine containers?
- Transportation of such cargoes is possible by using reefer containers. There are several types of containers and we are usually able to arrange suitable containers for unique cargoes. Inventory of special containers are so tight that we would appreciate having information ahead of time. Please understand that we would not be able to arrange special containers for booking with short notice.
| Reefer container | A temperature can be setup from -18 degrees C to +25 degrees C |
| Hanger container | The clothing covered over the hanger can be conveyed. |
| Flat rack container | This container has no ceiling and wall which used when carriage of cargoes which cannot be fit into regular containers. |

- If cargo falls or shifts position in the container, resulting in damage, what will be done?
We hear flat rack cargoes are sometimes refused at CY and by captains of vessels. Why would this happen?
- Under CY/CY term transportation, packing and lashing of cargoes are under customers' responsibilities that we cannot compensate. Please understand that it is necessary for customers to stuff/lash cargoes in a way the cargoes can withstand marine transportation.
If cargo(es) utilizing Flat rack containers is/are not properly lashed, such cargoes could be refused to accept at CY and/or load on board for safety reasons by captains of vessels. When cargoes come off from the containers, it would damage not only to the cargo itself but to ship and other cargoes, also it would cause delay of vessel schedule. When flat rack cargoes are refused due to un-proper lashing, we ask customers to re-lash on their cost, which please understand.

- If cargo damages are caused by unfit condition of containers, what will be done?
- Shippers check condition of containers when picked up and we basically would not compensate for cargo damages. We put uppermost try to release good conditioned containers but please re-check container condition when picked up.
Of course, many situations can be thought for cargo damages and we correspond to each cargo and other claims one by one. Please contact to our staff for any claim.
